Building Industry-Ready Data Science Skills
Want to prepare for data science work beyond the classroom? Start with these actions:
Build an end-to-end project. Practice defining a business problem, collecting and cleaning data, developing a model, evaluating its performance, and communicating your recommendations. Our DS and ML committees do this! Explore WiCDS opportunities →
Learn how models operate in real systems. Explore concepts such as data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, version control, testing, monitoring, privacy, and security.
Strengthen your communication skills. Practice explaining technical decisions, limitations, and results to audiences without a data science background.
Get involved with WiCDS. Join the Data Science, Machine Learning, or Projects Committee to develop skills through workshops and collaborative projects.
